The road that leads from Caiazzo to Castel Campagnano via San Giovanni e Paolo is a ridge of great beauty that rises and falls to begin with before descending among the vineyards and countryside overlooking the Matese and Taburno mountains and the Sannio region. From the Volturno plain, climb back up to Ruviano, a splendid example of excellent architectural restoration before returning to Caiazzo. Alterna- tively take a detour (+5 km) to Alvignano and then Caiazzo.
